OK, Plitvice Lakes goes down in my history books as one of the best hikes EVER. Plitvice in Croatia is a national park with 16 lakes, interconnected by waterfalls. At each and ever turn, Ellen and I were stunned by the lush mountains and azure colored water. We did a 12 miler at almost 90 degrees that day (yes, in my flip flops) but it was worth every second. Hike included walking right up to the waterfalls and on small wooden zigzag plank bridges. Unforgettable. Check out its beauty!
